The easiest and most pleasurable way to understand the power and effect of a Clearview Stove is to experience one working. Dinham House, Clearview's headquarters, has four stoves working summer and winter.
Many of us have warm recollections of childhood, sitting on mother's knee listening to stories, our imagination fired by the flames of an open fire. Unfortunately, the reality was not quite as cosy, and the poor performance of open fires meant that stories like The Little Match Girl or The Ice Queen were only too appropriate.
Here at Clearview Stoves we believe in the power of flame to bring warmth and security to everyone, and our range of multifuel stoves combine state-of-the-art engineering with beautiful design and clean-burning efficiency, turning a cosy dream into warm reality.
Clearview Stoves have taken a fresh look at fire, from another viewpoint with different goals, and we are now the largest manufacturer dedicated to clean-burning wood and coal multifuel stoves in the world. Clearview Stoves have gained a reputation for producing the very best stoves, with reliability and after-sales service second to none.
There is a simple reason for our success: we love and believe in stoves, and in wood as the major fuel of the future. We do not build gas stoves, nor do we build electric heaters. All our energies are directed towards making one exceptional product.
All of the photographs in this catalogue were taken by us, the fires are real ~ not gas, no flame effects, just honest photographs of the way our stoves can look every day. We hope you like them.

Clearview "Smoke Control"
The photograph below was used to announce the successful testing of our stoves for use in UK smoke control areas. We are proud to be the manufacturer of the first multifuel stove to pass. This means that "Clearview Smoke Control Stoves" can be used in smoke control areas throughout the UK to burn wood and any authorised smokeless fuel. You can enjoy the warmth and hypnotic flames, with efficiencies so high the smoke emissions are five times less than a conventional stove.
Our Stoves are renowned for their simplicity and reliability, and so we are very pleased to have passed such a stringent test without having to resort to installing a catalyst. Field tests have shown that the performance of catalytic stoves is often drastically reduced after only a few seasons of use.
Clearview stoves are designed for and by people who want clean burning and high efficiency, combined with the finest craftmanship and traditional styling.
In the past, stoves contributed to air pollution; but now, with a new generation of stoves, we can at least make a contribution towards cleaner air and energy conservation by burning wood in a highly efficient stove.
When trees grow, they absorb carbon dioxide and generate oxygen that is essential for our planet's survival. Whether wood is burned as a fuel or left to decay in the forest, it will release the same amount of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.
Surely no one can doubt that the most perfect energy source that could ever be conceived is one that self-plants, provides food and shelter throughout its life and, when mature, provides timber. Waste products can be burnt to provide warmth and flame; and during its life, a tree will have provided about twenty times more oxygen than is required for its combustion, which in turn releases no more CO2 than would eventual decay.
To ensure that we have healthy trees we must have serious wood management and careful harvesting. Healthy trees absorb three times as much CO2 than will be released during combustion.
A forest is a huge battery of stored solar energy. Large areas of low grade land are ideally suited to forestation. Forests are able to absorb much of the Earth's CO2 imbalance recuding global warming. Organised forestation can moderate our need to burn precious reserves of oil and gas, conserving them for more valuable uses, limiting oil spills and minimising our need for increased nuclear power.
Supplementing your heating with an efficient Clearview stove is a significant step towards energy independence.

Pioneer 400
The Pioneer is the highest specification small stove ever built, and so fuel-efficient that it will burn only one kilogram of wood an hour, stay in overnight, boil a kettle and heat your water (if the optional 8,000 btu boiler is added.)
You can choose a horizontal or vertical flue position and three different leg lengths. There are also five beautiful colours options as well as the standard black finish.
This rugged 5kW stove is equally at home in a country cottage, a modern apartment, a mobile home or a boat.
Vision flat top
An old stone cottage on a bleak windswept hillside is transformed into a warm and cosy home with a Vision stove.
What could be more welcoming after a long walk on a cold and frosty day than an efficient stove burning brightly and a basket of muffins ready to toast.

Vision low canopy
Most people now realise that an open fire loses through its chimney about 90% of the heat it produces.
However, what usually seems to be less understood is the fact that when an open fire (gas effect or solid fuel) is not producing heat, its chimney is still extracting warmth from other sources of heat in the home such as storage heaters or radiators. The home would be warmer and more free from draughts if the chimney were simply blocked up.
A Clearview stove will give you five times the heat of an open fire and will considerably reduce draughts and energy loss.

Vision 500 flat top
Any home, whether an elegant Georgian mansion or a simple country cottage, can only be improved by the addition of a beautifully crafted efficient stove, adding practical warmth and the magic that only comes with real flames.
For almost half a century we have been bombarded by millions of pounds worth of advertising, attempting to convince us that the heart of a home is a night storage heater or a tin radiator.
The shortcomings of these heat sources are evident when we see laughable attempts to make an electric fire flicker like a flame. The gas industry has built thousands of gas fires, not designed to heat efficiently, but rather to burn at low efficiency to emulate the lazy yellow flames of a log fire.

750 high canopy
Inglenooks with vast chimneys, though often very handsome, are also responsible for uncontrollable draughts. Heat from the fireplace is swept up the chimney, taking with it the warmth from the room.
The average fireplace burns at an efficiency of less than 15%. Its problem is that, whether burning or not, it pulls an enormous volume of air up the chimney. This is why our feet and backs remain cold. Smoking problems are also often experienced, and with heat being pulled from the room, negative efficiencies are common.
A Clearview stove will not only produce many times more heat from the same amount of fuel compared with an open fire, but draughts and smoking can usually be cured.
Our stoves are easy to light, will burn for long periods unattended, and give a wonderful view of the fire.
The stove in the photograph above is a 750 high canopy, the largest in our range. The inglenook fireplace was built from old Ludlow bricks. This stove is easily heating a building thirty six feet by eighteen feet, and open to a ridge height of approximately fifteen feet.

Clearview Stoves believe in flame, safety, durability, efficiency and versatility. One of the prime concerns when designing the Clearview range of stoves was to create the world's first multifuel, clean-burning stove.
This is a stove that can be burned efficiently, with the flame safely behind large, strong glass viewing windows that do not tar r smoke up like conventional stoves. Glass so clean, and flames so natural, that viewing is actually more satisfying than an open fire. Stoves so efficient that they do not create draughts in the room like a conventional fireplace.
Flat top models usually burn with top temperatures of around 500F making them ideal for cooking or, with the addition of a trivet, warming or steaming.

Pioneer Oven
The Pioneer Oven Stove is an elegant new addition to the Clearview range. This highly efficient 'super-cleanburning' stove is particularly suited to installations where there is not an existing chimney and a free-standing flue is propose.
The warming oven will cook casseroles and bake potatoes, whilst the large hotplate is ideal for boiling a kettle or keeping your coffee warm.
The fuel store is the perfect place to dry your kindling wood.

Vision Inset
The Vision Inset incorporates all of the tried and tested Clearview features, with a wonderful view of the fire and clean burning.
The Inset can be installed in a standard fireplace opening where the hearth depth is limited and the least structural disruption is required. If the fireplace is to be constructed, use our convection box to line the opening; this will aid installation and ensure the correct air flow around the stove.
Clear commitment
So many manufacturers today are merely sales organisations; often they know and care little about the origins or destination of their products. Just a name on a box in a rented industrial unit somewhere. History has proved that there is a lot more to heating than just buying a heating appliance. It must look right, be the correct size, give fuel flexibility and be properly installed.
Clearview like to be in control of as many aspects of production as possible. We are unique in our follow through, starting with design, then pattern making, programming, production, assembly, finishing, marketing and, finally, distribution, from our ten acre factory site in the Shropshire hills.
We do not just make stoves; we give our customers the benefit of years of experience, gained from many thousands of past installations. Our product knowledge is unequalled in the industry.
Clearview stoves combine features tried and tested for many decades, with "state of the art" combustion engineering. Our manufacturing techniques are equally diverse. We combine modern computer controlled robotic production equipment with traditional hand finishing techniques. Durability and maintainability are important to us. All components in direct contact with the fire can be easily removed for replacement. This is an obvious benefit, but it is rarely found; many stoves have fire in direct contact with main structural components.
Clearview's unique air pre-heating and air circulation system results in much higher firebox temperatures. A large volume of combustion air is stored and heated in our double wall construction. This reservoir of hot air is drawn through more than seven feet of pre-heating passages, feeding the fire with only hot combustion air. Our unique patented system promotes turbulence and draws unburned smoky gases back through the hot embers of the fire, re-burning the smoke. This second burning results in the lively fire so characteristic of Clearview combustion.
Few things are achieved without cost or compromise, however the remarkable thing about clean combustion is the lack of negatives. Clearview combustion saves fuel, increases fuel flexibility, gives you a wonderful view of the fire and very low maintenance.
Fires that burn with high efficiency also provide the most attractive visual effect, the cleanest chimneys and the least smoke.
Our customers tell us that we produce the best, most reliable stoves available; we are proud of that. We have also gained a reputation for delivery well packed stoves on time.
Even though our stoves are clean burning and reduce creosote emissions, this does not mean that you should neglect the regular cleaning and maintenance of your chimney. And with a dependable stove and a good fuel store, you will be in control of your heating. ...
