Choosing fireplace accessories: contemporary or traditional?

The first accessory you're going to need after your new stove is installed is a set of tools. Commonly called a companion, or fireside, set, it usually consists of a poker (for the Cluedo cognoscenti: Colonel Mustard in the library!), a brush and pan and possibly some tongs for manipulating coals that find their way onto the hearth.

We stock scores of varieties and variations on this basic theme, but the only strong preference expressed by most of our customers is for 'traditional' or 'contemporary'.

Pictured here are examples of both, along with co-ordinating firescreens and log trays.
